My guest today, Marcie Strouse, is passionate about Health Insurance Advocacy & Education, which is today’s topic. There are a myriad of misperceptions about health insurance and it’s important we know the facts.
Marcie brings 20+ years of experience as an independent insurance agent in the benefits industry and is a Partner at Capitol Benefits Group. Areas of expertise for her are working with employer groups to consult, educate and service their employee benefits as well as supporting the Medicare population.
Currently, she is serving as the HUPAC Chair for the Iowa Association of Health Underwriters (IAHU) – a professional association dedicated to protecting insurance consumers, where she has also served in various leadership capacities. During her years of service at IAHU, the area Marcie is most passionate about is government relations; it has become her true calling. In 2018, Governor Reynolds appointed Marcie to the Medical Assistance Advisory Council (MAAC) for the State of Iowa where she was re-appointed to serve another two-year term. Marcie has just accepted a role on the Leadership Council with NFIB and is looking forward to supporting businesses across Iowa.
